PRP & SkinPen options · Boca Raton

A skin plan with options beyond PRP.

PRP is one option MACA can discuss alongside SkinPen microneedling. You can also ask about salmon DNA/PDRN and exosome products. Your clinician will confirm which products and methods, if any, are appropriate and available for you.

How does PRP fit into a SkinPen plan?

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is prepared from a sample of your own blood. SkinPen is a separate microneedling device. PRP, salmon DNA/PDRN and exosome products are different materials, not interchangeable names for one procedure. We will explain the exact product, method, risks and alternatives before you decide. SkinPen is not FDA-cleared to deliver these products into the skin; a combination must never be described as an FDA-cleared use of the device.

Options to discuss, one at a time

01

PRP

A blood-derived preparation that may be discussed as a separate facial procedure or companion option. Ask how it would be prepared and applied; cosmetic outcomes are not guaranteed.

02

Salmon DNA / PDRN

Ask which specific product, ingredients and method MACA offers. The name alone does not establish its safety, benefits or regulatory status.

03

Exosome products

No exosome product is FDA-approved. Ask us about the exact product and its regulatory status before considering any proposed use; availability is not a recommendation.

MACA

A consultation before an add-on

  1. 01

    Discuss

Tell us your skin goals and whether you are considering SkinPen alone or another option.

  2. 02

    Review

Your clinician reviews health history, product identity, application method, evidence, risks, cost and alternatives.

  3. 03

    Decide

Choose a plan only after suitability and the details of any proposed product or separate procedure are clear.

Suitability

Keep the procedure and evidence in perspective

The FDA has not cleared microneedling devices to deliver cosmetics, drugs, biologics or blood products such as PRP into skin. Exosome products have additional regulatory concerns, and no exosome product is FDA-approved. Product choice, timing and suitability require an individual clinical and regulatory review. Do not send medical history through ordinary email or SMS.

FAQ

Questions

Is PRP the same as SkinPen?

No. PRP is a blood-derived preparation; SkinPen is a microneedling device. Any proposed combination needs a separate discussion of method and safety.

What are the other options?

MACA can discuss salmon DNA/PDRN and questions about exosome products. The exact formulation, availability and method must be confirmed before a treatment is proposed.

Are these products FDA-cleared for delivery through SkinPen?

No. The FDA says microneedling devices are not cleared to deliver other products into the skin. No exosome product is FDA-approved.

Will PRP improve my skin?

Evidence for cosmetic facial outcomes is limited, and results cannot be promised. Your clinician can discuss realistic expectations for a specific plan.

What will it cost?

Costs depend on the selected procedure and product. We will explain the current plan, price and any offer terms before treatment.
